- EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LEGISLATIVE, EXECUTIVE, AND JUDICIARY IN THE GOVERNMENT SYSTEM ? :
- In our city’s government system, there are three main branches that work together to maintain balance and uphold justice — the Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary branches.
The Legislative branch is responsible for creating and passing laws. This is typically done by the City Council or Senate, who debate and vote on legislation that shapes how the city operates.
The Executive branch is in charge of enforcing those laws. It includes the Mayor’s Office, Police Department, and other government agencies that ensure the rules set by the Legislative branch are followed in daily city life.
The Judiciary branch, where the Department of Justice operates, is responsible for interpreting the law and ensuring justice is served fairly. This includes judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and other legal officers who handle cases, protect citizens’ rights, and make sure no branch oversteps its authority.
In simple terms, the Legislative makes the law, the Executive enforces the law, and the Judiciary interprets and applies the law — together ensuring a fair and lawful city.
